Out of the 200 or so emails I received after sending out todays blog, at least half finished with the immortal line, ‘what’s the catch, nothing is for free.’
Generally that’s correct, there is normally a catch, things aren’t really free and of course most of us aren’t daft enough to believe otherwise.
If you read my email carefully, it was very clear that what I was actually offering was a FEE free purchase, not a free property however this did not stop a multitude of people confirming that they indeed wanted to reserve the property but alarmingly then went on to ask what the terms of the deal were.
Now, the property in questions was based in Wales, it was brick built, it had a fitted kitchen, a shower room, a front and rear garden and a discount of 33% off the current market value. On top of this, the property offered a yield of over 19% which is phenomenal. As I’m sure most of you know, I normally charge a reservation fee for this sort of deal, that’s the business I am in, Property Sourcing, however on this occasion I thought why not throw this deal out there and forget about the fee?
Literally there was no fee at all charged by Pure Acquisitions.
However there was a cost to purchase the property, it was £20,000. The email was very clear; there was no fee, no fee would be charged, the property was fee free but you would need to purchase the property and if you couldn’t purchase with cash, you would need to raise some sort of finance on the deal. So, there it is, no catch, nothing hidden away, just a very attractive investment opportunity for those in a position to purchase it.
Over the coming months, I’m going to do this again. I’m going to take one of our deals and offer it fee free and I know I will get the same amount of people asking me about the catch.
